Tanz hinter medialem Schleier
Information formt Denken, Fühlen und Meinen. Wenn sie viele Köpfe und Herzen erreicht, bilden sich Formationen – an der Abendkasse, am Strand, in der Luft oder auf der Straße. Muster entstehen, die sich bildmächtig medial verbreiten, Stimmung machen und nach Positionierung verlangen.
Individuelles verliert sich in Choreografien des Alltags, in die es zufällig oder gewollt hineingeraten ist. Diese Dynamik zwischen Einzelnen und Gruppe untersucht die neue Produktion von KOMBINAT.
Bild- und Filmzitate aus verschiedenen Archiven und Gruppen-Choreografien, die an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg gedreht wurden, bilden das mediale Gegenstück zur sehr lebendigen, teils lakonischen Tanzperformance von Risa Kojima und David Pallant. Schritt für Schritt entfaltet Lost in Formation einen Assoziationsraum als Kommentar zu einer komplexen Welt der verschiedenen Geschwindigkeiten und Überzeugungen. Und so viel darf jetzt schon verraten werden: Es verspricht eine besondere Erfahrung von Zeit.

Information shapes the thinking, feeling and believing. When it reaches many hearts and minds formations form – at the box office, on the beach, in the air and in the streets. Patterns emerge whose vivid imagery spreads throughout the media, creating an atmosphere that pushes for positioning.
Individuality is lost in choreographies of everyday life into which it happened to enter accidentally or by deliberation. The dynamic between the individual and the group is explored by KOMBINAT’s new production.
Picture-quotes from film and image banks as well as group choreographies shot at the Film University Babelsberg act as a media counterpart to the very lively, partly laconic dance performance by Risa Kojima and David Pallant. Step by step, “Lost in Formation” unfolds a space for associations commenting on a complex world of differing speeds and contradicting convictions. And this much may already be revealed: it promises a very special experience of time.

Risa Kojima
Risa studierte Tanz an der Masako Kaburagi Ballet School und der Folkwang Universität der Künste.
Sie tanzte u.a. bei SETanztheater, Sasha Waltz, Yaron Shamir, Fredewess, Kristof Szabo, KOMBINAT, Okwui Okpokwasili.
David Pallant
David studierte Tanz am Central School of Ballet London und am Conservatoire National de Paris.
Er tanzte u.a. bei: Tanzcompanie Oper Graz, National Dance Company Wales, Club Guy & Roni, Dance Company Nanine Linning, KOMBINAT, Shang-Chi Sun.

Das Tanzstück erforscht Fragen der Wahrnehmung von Zeit und Prozessen unterschiedlicher Geschwindigkeiten.
Für die multimediale Arbeit haben wir Screens entworfen, die sich langsamer bewegen, als sich beobachten lässt. Was sich wie Stillstand anfühlt, bewirkt scheinbar plötzlich große Veränderung im Raum. Die Perspektive ändert sich permanent und individuell für jede Position im Publikum. Einige Zeit bleibt die live-Performance hinter dem medialen Bild dann wirklich lost.
Die Bewegung der Projektionsflächen ist timecode-gesteuert und gibt der gesamten Performance den Takt vor. In einer Gegenwart, die sich der Herausforderung stellen muss, auf Prozesse zu reagieren, die im großen Zeithorizont ablaufen bieten wir dieses spezielle Bühnenbild als Erfahrungs- und Assoziationsraum an.
The dance piece explores questions regarding the perception of time and processes of different speeds.
For the multimedia work we designed screens that move slower than can be observed. What feels like standstill causes great change in the space. The perspective changes all the time and quite differently for each position in the audience. For some time, the live performance behind the media image then becomes truly lost.
The motion of the projection screens is timecode-controlled and sets the pace for the entire performance. In a reality that has to face the challenge of appropriate reactions to processes that take place in a large time horizon, we offer this special stage design as a space for contemplation and association.
